ATCO INDIGENOUS EDUCATION AWARD RECIPIENT 2017

Dallas Cardinal is one of our Saddle Lake Post Secondary Students, who is currently working on her Bachelor of Arts Degree at Concordia University in Edmonton.  The Scholarship that Dallas received on January 19, 2017, was the ATCO Indigenous Education Award based on her commitment to her education, leadership skills and role model qualities that can be recognized in the community.

Yes, the next Indspire Application Deadline Date is just around the corner. 

If you have not done so already, you better get busy and fill out your application today.  The next Indspire deadline is fast approaching and the Saddle Lake Post Secondary Staff highly recommend that all our Post Secondary Students apply online today.  Indspire offers many scholarships and bursaries and you can also check the institution that you are attending, it’s FREE MONEY!

We are the largest funder of Indigenous education outside the federal government: to date, Indspire has disbursed almost $65 million through close to 20,000 bursaries and scholarships to Indigenous students.

EDUCATION AUTHORITY ROUND DANCE 2015


SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 14, 2015

This Round Dance is to honor all 2013 – 2014 graduates from the Post Secondary, Human Resource Centre, Reinvestments & Cultural Education programs.  This is our 16th Biennial Education Round Dance and will be held at the Saddle Lake Cree Nation’s Ayiwakes Cultural Centre.  Post Secondary will also be awarding the recipients of the awards for academic excellence in each the following levels:  Postgraduate, Undergraduate, Dipolma, Certificate and University College Entrance.  These will be based on academic performance for the most recent term only in either the Fall, Inter-session or Winter taken between January 1, 2013 and December 31, 2014.  To qualify, please ensure that your OFFICIAL TRANSCRIPTS are submitted to Betty Ann Cardinal, Post Secondary Student Advisor, by January 16, 2015.  Transcripts can be faxed to 780-726-4069, dropped off at the Education Authority Office or email scanned to bettyanncardinal@saddlelake.ca.

You and your families are welcome to participate in the honor dances and giveaways that are planned during the evening.  We ask that graduates arrive at approximately 5:00pm to register if you want to take part in the pipe ceremony.  We look forward to your participation and if you have any questions or concerns, please call our office at 1-800-668-0243 (Toll Free) or direct line at 780-726-7609.

We, the Post Secondary Staff, want to send out a WELCOME BACK to all our continuing students and WELCOME ABOARD to all our new and returning students. Your decision to continue your educational journey is commended and wish you all the best. Here at the Post Secondary office it has been a whirl wind of activity, as we prepared your files and collaborated with your institutions to ensure that your return would be as smooth as possible. We ask that if you have not sent in any of the documents that we have requested, to please send in via email, fax or drop off at the office.

We want to thank all the students who came out and participated at our Post Secondary Student Orientation that we hosted on August 26, 2013 in St. Paul. It was a pleasure meeting all the students and you are an inspiration to those around you . Congratulations to those students who took home prizes and thank you for all the positive feedback that we received, it is greatly appreciated.

We want to invite you to come back every now and again to check out our website for any updates and news from the Post Secondary staff. If you have any questions or concerns, regarding your sponsorship or have any questions regarding the institution you are attending, please call or email us right away.
